So last night I was chilling with this American couple on the rooftop... just beautiful view of the Acrypolis. I was drinking a 3 euro bottle of Ouzo, like the Greek national drink... its pretty much like black licoriche alcohol... nasty nasty stuff but it got the job done of giving me a buzz. Then I went downstairs to make a call, ended up meeting another American traveller, and we hit up some bars. Athens has an AWESOME bar patio scene.
But anyway, I decided last night that other than the Acrypolis, Athens kind of blows... and I don't want to see a museum. On top of that, I think the locals do not like tourists (which is understandable), so there's no warm fuzzy feeling here. So I decided to leave this morning.
But it turns out the boat to Ios leaves in the afternoon, so I have hours to kill before I get on the boat. Hmm... I gotta buy some bread to go with the sardines I bought for dinner - a page out of the Mauritian handbook.
The European cafe culture is awesome......
Peace,
J

Please tell me that at least you got to feast your eyes on some lovely architecture! and no dirty jokes :P
so none of the other tourists knew what else to visit in Athens? or you just don't want to look?
have fun on the ferry ride. you're not missing anything in Ottawa other than a brutal heatwave.
are you able to post any pictures?
No, can't upload pix, I don't think... although I could try next time...
Yeah, the only architecture I saw was the acrypolis, and the parthenon, which was impressive. But I figure greece is the prologue to my journey, so I'm not gonna see too much architecture here....
Hey Jason,
If you want to post pics you can click the photo icon when you create the post. It will automatically shrink the photo down. You will need a decent connection if the photos are large though.
